Hello my fellow not-so-fashionable friends! It feels as though forever and a day has passed since we have last been in contact, and I must extend my deepest apologies. However, college applications have been completed (at last!) and I am once more free to indulge my fashion fancy.
I cannot believe that nearly a year has passed by. Spring has sprung and summer is just around the corner!
Sadly, springtime can be a stylistic vanguards' worst nightmare, for we face the age-old problem of what to wear. We can't simply continue wearing winter wear, nor can we dust off our summer selections just yet, especially in if you live in a place plagued by ever-changing weather. Luckily, I have not one, but several solutions (Guys, this is applicable for you too!):
1. Less is not more.
If you are unfortunate enough to reside in a place where the weather is as fickle as one of Taylor Swift's relationships, then it is quite likely that you have experienced a phenomenon in which you've either worn too many layers and been plagued by an unexpected heat wave, or worn too little and were left shivering in a veritable icebox of a building. How can such a problem be solved? Instead of wearing less clothing, and praying for merciful warmth, start out your day with a few light layers. Pair a removable sweater with sandals, or keep a scarf close at hand if you're wearing shorts. In doing this, you're prepared for both sudden heat waves and malicious cold fronts, for both items can be easily donned and removed! Also, tying things around the one's waist has resurfaced as a fashion trend.
Examples:
2. Do not, and I repeat, do not attempt to wear coats/thermal leggings/heavy sweaters "one last time" before spring starts.
Trust me, this never has, and never will work out nicely. You will be left a hot, sweaty, mascara-running mess by the end of the day.
I can guarantee that you'll be "melting" by the end of the day.
3. Above all, check the weather before exiting your home!
Yes, this may sound incredibly simple, but you would be surprised by the number of times that I have been unpleasantly surprised by Nature and her devilish plans. Be prepared, and you will never be ensnared!
I wish you the best of luck with your springtime endeavors!
Live long and prosper fashionably and may the fashion force be with you!
