However, Christmas tends to dredge up the oh-so-important age old problem of (you guessed it!) money. Because goodness gracious, everything is so expensive! And we have to buy things for multiple people? Forget fashion, I'll just wear a paper bag, for by the end of the season, that's all that I'll be able to afford! Also, it is far too stressful to find warm, stylish clothing for this weather; I think I'll stick with sweat pants!
Au contraire my fashion fledglings! Yes, Christmas may seem likely to "break your bank," but one does not simply resort to SWEAT PANTS! There is a much better solution to your stylistic woes: outfit experimentation!
Yes, it may seem to be an odd suggestion, but think upon it further. In mixing and matching summer and winter pieces, I have found huge success, alongside miserable failure (but mostly success!).
But, would it not be worth the risk? What do you have to lose? You've obviously already gotten to the point of sweatpants-on-a-daily-basis, so you really cannot fall much further. Here are some examples of successful seasonal mixing and matching:
Keep in mind, any of these can be paired with a coat and/or scarf! Sweaters work wonders during the winter season and work with far more outfits than you would think!
